Today (March 13, 2025) I got to test out my new analog alarm clock and it was about as shrill as I expected. It was certainly effective in getting me awake, however I quickly went back to bed and closed my eyes for a couple more minutes, which is a bit of an improvement from the usual cellphone alarm that would wake me up just enough to hit snooze then doze off again. It was snowing quite a lot this morning to the point everything was covered white. I regret not taking a photo as the snow eventually melted by noon. Midterms went as good as it could get with what little studying I did the night prior…. I can only hope it’s a passing grade; stellar results are not to be expected from my negligence le sigh.
Afterwards I went to the city to finish the second half of my immunization test. I tested positive, though apparently it’s a common occurrence and I was given an xray note in advance from my doctor.
After the trip we decided to take a stroll around a mall nearby the clinic that was at a part of the city we rarely visit. It was sort of.. Uncanny. I had many instances of deja vu walking around the mall and came across a large empty hallway that led to a cinema. It was completely scarce save for a potted plant and charging port. There was a lady riding a horse stuffy rider and was spinning in circles around a pillar. My sister compared it to a sight from LSD Dream Emulator.

While we were walking down the long corridor, I saw a couple wearing matching bass pro merchandise, the male seemed to be a more enthusiastic fan, sporting both a hat and tshirt while the woman had a sweater. There were 4 separate stores in the mall that sold “comic book/nerdy” paraphernalia…. except they were all poorly made bootleg merchandise and AI posters being sold for 20x the price. I even saw this bootleg miniso that sold off-brand stationary and plushies that I’ve seen on temu and other alibaba resellers, though I was humored to see a knock off chiikawa coin purse that was colored tan. It was in a kiosk that sold crochet flowers (that I truly hope were handmade by the cashier) so I was a bit intimidated to take a picture of it. There was also a hachiware coin purse that certainly looked more convincing and was a soft plush material while chii-chan was an off-coloured rubber.
I walked by an urban outfitters window display that was reminiscent of something I saw from a dream (mannequins lined up across the window, stacked in vertical rows of 3. In my dream there was a store that had a conveyor of torso mannequins spanning the ceiling.) I tend to have a lot of mall dreams for some reason so walking into an unfamiliar mall always gives me this sense of dread.
I did happen to see this funny guy.

It was a pleasant day overall, it felt like a friday!
